  • The Trainer must be a member in good standing and have at least 2 years of experience with ParaPatrol as an investigator. A solid background in the investigative techniques and practices of ParaPatrol is essential.
  • If not already in place, the Trainer is responsible for developing and/or modifying and maintaining the following:
    • An orientation package for potential new members including forms and membership rules.
    • A 90 day training program for potential new members.
    • The training program must be based on ParaPatrol's investigative techniques and include all aspects of the investigation. This can take the form of reading materials, exercises, role-playing, etc.
    • A means to accurately evaluate the potential member's knowledge at the end of the 90-day probationary period. This may be done with a written test, a question-and-answer session with the organization, or by some other reasonable means.
    • Part of the training include reading Troy Taylor's "Ghost Hunter's Guide" followed by a quiz on aspects of the book.
  • At the end of the 90-day potential member probationary period, the Trainer must be able to provide a written evaluation of the potential member and present it to the organization in a closed meeting. This evaluation is an important part of the membership process and should be an accurate assessment of the potential member's:
    • Ability to learn.
    • Ability to follow directions.
    • Ability to take direction from others.
    • Ability to work in a team.
    • Ability to think critically.
    • Interest and eagerness level.
    • Strengths and weaknesses.
    • Potential as a member of ParaPatrol.
  • In addition to training during the first 90 days of a potential member's probationary period, the Trainer is also responsible for the continuing education of the group. The Trainer does not have to provide the training but must organize others to present topics of interest. These training sessions can occur at monthly meetings where 15-20 minutes are dedicated to continuing education. The trainer may also look for outside seminars or classes and suggest the group attend.
